The Black Velvet Chatelaine Finger Evening Purse is a rare antique 1901 Samuel Jacob London Sterling Silver mounted purse. It has both a belt clip and a dog clip, so it can attached to a belt/chatelaine or clipped to or another chain. It is hallmarked for sterling silver, London, 1901's, and the maker Samuel Jacob, whose work was seen from 1892-1910, and who various pieces are rare and collectable. There is also a serial number on the inside as well as stamped "Rd".

It measures 9cm tall by 8cm wide. The silver mount has a hunting scene detail and the clip has a lovely cherub and lovely design surrounding. this piece is offered in good antique condition with wear in keeping with age. the dog clip and the purse closure are in good working order. The main point of wear is the velvet. Although, i think it adds charm. Of course, the new owner can replace the velvet, if desired, but it's ready to use as it is. Late Victorian Early Edwardian 1901
